T&T take charge of Leewards in Four Day battle

Amit Jangoo (81*) and Kyle Hope (61*) have taken the T&T Red Force into a commanding position after Day 1 of their Regional Four Day match against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes.

Together they took T&T to 148/0, after the Red Force had a great day with the ball, dismissing the Leeward Islands for 207 all out.

Devon Thomas (46) and Rakheem Cornwall (43) were the top scorers for the Hurricanes.

Roshon Primus was the leader of the T&T bowling attack, taking 4/57 while spinner Imran Khan took 3/26, and part-timer Bryan Charles took 2/53.

The Red Force need 60 runs to take an innings lead and score enough to force a victory.

The Windward Islands Volcanoes were bowled out for 200 by the Jamaica Scorpions, as action also continued on Day 1 of their Regional Four Day Encounter.

116 not out from Devon Smith ensured the Windwards had a decent total on the board.

But Jamaica’s Nikita Miller spun his way to a 5-wicket haul, leaking just 60 runs.

The Scorpions were 41/0 at stumps, still trailing the Volcanoes by 159 runs.

The Barbados Pride have ended Day 1 on 282/7 against the table-toppers Guyana Jaguars.

Kenroy Williams led with 68 runs and Kevin Stoute added 47 to the scoreboard, to assist the Pride after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.

Keon Joseph (3/63) and Keemo Paul (2/54) have been the Jaguars’ best bowlers so far.

Action continues tomorrow in all three games.
