Traffic restriction along the Nap/Mayaro Road until July 9th as landslip is fixed

For the next four months, traffic will be disrupted along the Naparima Mayaro Road in Agostini Village, Rio Claro.

The Works Ministry says this interruption is to facilitate construction of a retaining wall and road rehabilitation works.

Work started along the 46.5km mark yesterday and is expected to be completed by Monday the 9th of July, 2018.

In the interim, the Ministry says only one lane of the roadway will be accessible to vehicular traffic.

Drivers are asked to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.

They are also advised to reduce their speed when approaching the work zone and follow instructions from police officers on site.

This is to ensure a safe and orderly flow of traffic.

Motorists are urged to be on the alert for heavy equipment entering and exiting the site and drive carefully on all milled or uneven surfaces.
