Tobago considers projects for PPP funding

A cancer treatment centre in Tobago is one of six projects being considered for public-private partnership funding.

According to the THA, representatives from the Caribbean Development Bank and an external consultant provided through World Bank support, visited Tobago.

They participated in “a series of public private partnership sensitization sessions and candidate project assessment.”

According to Finance Secretary Joel Jack, the projects being considered are: the construction of a commercial cargo port at Cove Industrial Park, a marina, the upgrade of the Milford Road Esplanade, the THA housing programme, an urban transport hub in Scarborough and a cancer treatment centre.

Mr Jack says the assessments will determine the most appropriate and feasible projects for PPP financing.
