Tech Today: Trinis to head off to Washington Robotics competition

Tomorrow, three Form Five students of Presentation College Chaguanas will be heading off to Washington to represent T&T in an Olympiad-styled international robotics competition

The team of Avidesh Marajh, Fahad Hosein and Josef Gonzalez has been tasked, like all other teams, with designing a robot to complete engineering tasks.

It must be based on the theme which is “Providing access to safe and clean drinking water.”

The three youngsters will be flying the T&T flag in the midst of teams from 160 countries.

The event, called the FIRSZT Global Challenge, takes place from July 14th.

The team will be accompanied by their mentors Daniel Ramsook, Vikash Marajh and Shastri Ram.

Ram, the official mentor of the team, was awarded the prize for the Best Student in the country a few years ago.

He is heavily involved in the field of robotics and is the driving force behind the T&T team.

103FM will be in contact with the youngsters, in a bid to bring you more information on their project.
