The Guyana Amazon Warriors have signed Nicholas Pooran as their marquee player for CPL 2019.
The Caribbean Premier League is expected to take place from September 4th to October 12th.
Pooran played for the Barbados Tridents in last year’s tournament and most recently played for the King’s XI Punjab in this year’s IPL edition.
According to Sportsmax, Amazon Warriors Team Operations Manager Omar Khan welcomed the ‘explosive and exciting’ impressive young talent in the team.
Khan said the Warriors wanted to rope in Pooran in the team as they push to do better than they did in last year’s tournament.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors finished as runners-up in CPL 2018.
Pooran has played 11 T20 Internationals for the Windies and has become a regular in T20 tournament around the world.
He was also recently chosen as a member of the Windies squad for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup to be played later this month.
The remainder of the Warriors squad will be decided t the CPL Player Draft which takes place on May 22nd.
