Kohli: Winning Australia series better than winning World Cup

India captain Virat Kohli says their historic Test series win against Australia makes him more emotional than when he won the World Cup.

The two teams drew the final match handing India their first ever series win “down under”.

Kohli says when he won the 2011 World Cup he didn’t have the emotion of not winning the tournament before as it was his debut competition.

On the flipside, India have travelled to Australia three times since Kohli’s Test debut against the Windies in June 2011:

2011/12: Australia wins in the 4-match series 4-0
    2014/15: Australia wins the 4-match series 2-0
2018/19: India wins the 4-match series 2-1 (first ever Test series win in Australia)

Kohli says the team badly wanted to win a series away from home and prove to themselves that they are not “one-match wonders”.

Head Coach Ravi Shastri lauded his captain, saying there is no one who skippers a Test team with more passion.
