Several traffic disruptions today and Sunday

Several traffic restrictions will be in place in Port of Spain today.

The TTPS is advising motorists that no parking will be allowed along St Vincent Street, between Gordon and Sackville Streets, between 12am to 5pm.

There will also be NO ENTRY along Abercromby Street between Knox and Park Streets, and NO ENTRY along Duke Street between Pembroke and Edward Streets.

Members of the public are being urged to follow all instructions and directions given by officers in a bid to ensure safety and security.
There’s also a traffic disruption in place today along Maracas Royal Road, St. Joseph near the 3km mark.

The disruption, which leaves just one lane open to traffic, comes as a collapsed culvert is being reconstructed.

The daytime work started at 9am and continues until 3pm while night-time work starts at 6pm and runs until 4am tomorrow.
A temporary road closure, meanwhile, will be in place on Sunday between 7am and 6pm on part of the Southern Main Road.

The affected portion is south of the intersection with the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, between Springvale Road and NUGFW Drive.

During the 11 hour period, motorists going east on the highway will not be allowed to turn right onto the main road, motorists going west will not be allowed to turn left onto the main road, motorists going southbound on the main road will not be allowed to continue across the intersection and those heading north will not be allowed past NUGFW Road.

The Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Uriah Butler Highway, Caroni Savannah Road and Trantrill Road may be used as alternative routes.
