PM denies persecution after Carnival threat exercises

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is denying allegations that the local Muslim community is being unfairly targeted by law enforcement.

Last week, several mosques were searched and persons detained on suspicion of planning terrorist activities to disrupt Carnival.

Speaking after a one day Cabinet retreat today, Dr Rowley said the action was taken in the wake of credible information regarding a threat.
