Patient Pujara pulls through for India in opening Aussie Test

Adelaide – Cheteshwar Pujara pulled through with the bat for India in their opening Test against Australia on a tough pitch.

He made a patient 123, which he described as one of his top 5 innings, while no other Indian batsman could manage more than 37.

Speaking after India put on 250/9 before stumps on day one, Pujara noted that the pitch was two-paced and a lot more difficult to bat on than it seems.

Even skipper Virat Kohli had a tough day, losing his wicket for just 3 when he was brilliantly caught by Usman Khawaja at gully.
