OPM corrects “erroneous” newspaper article

The Office of the Prime Minister has sought to put the record straight with regards to an article in a daily newspaper today.

It makes specific reference to the story headlined ‘Fired Port boss told to stay quiet by lawyers’ with the portion on T&T Inter-island Transport CEO, Leon Grant.

The article states that he was suspended a few weeks ago, after PM Dr Keith Rowley appeared before a Joint Select Committee of Parliament.

The OPM however says these statements are erroneous as the timelines are wrong since Mr Grant was suspended before Dr Rowley’s JSC appearance.

In fact, it says the newspaper reported on Mr Grant’s suspension on August 16th 2017, and the PM’s JSC appearance on September 19th 2017.
