The Debe Campus of the University of the West Indies is expected to be in full operation for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Education Minister Anthony Garcia today told the Senate that though it is solely in the hands of the UWI, every effort is being made to make this happen.
Today in the Senate, he outlined the works that are being completed.
Mr Garcia says the handover of all buildings from the contractor is expected by December 31st this year; while the ICT, multimedia and audio-visual components are due to be commissioned by February next year.
He also insists that no student has been adversely affected due to the campus not yet opening, since there has been no registration for new or continuing students there, thus far.
