UNC MP calls on PM to intervene and fix problems facing nurses

UNC MP Dr Tim Gopeesingh is calling for the immediate intervention of the Prime Minister to fix issues affecting nurses across the country.

He claims that the Nursing Association has confirmed a lack of medical resources, a shortage of trained personnel and inadequate facilities.

Dr Gopeesingh says the Health Minister has also failed to deal with the displacement of patients from the Central Block of the Port of Spain Hospital, since its closure.

He says another issue that is in urgent need of being addressed is the huge backlog in the number of elective surgeries.
