Top Cop Gary Griffith has unveiled the photos of two former Acting Commissioners of Police.
Traditionally, only substantive office holders would have their photos framed and mounted in a place of honour.
But Mr Griffith broke the usual convention by honouring Commissioner (Ag) James Philbert who served the post from 2008 to 2010, and also to Commissioner (Ag) Stephen Williams who served as Top Cop from 2012 to 2018.
Mr Griffith emphasized at the unveiling that T&T must always have someone who leads the Police Service, and whether both Commissioners held acting or substantive posts, he says they were Commissioners of Police for the times stated.
The ceremony took place at the First Divisions Officer’s (FDO) Mess at the Police Administration Building.
The photos were framed and mounted in a place of honour at the building, for historical recognition by future generations of officers.
