Tobago gets a Child Support Centre

There is now an official space to deal with emergency cases when children are abused in Tobago.

The Children’s Authority Director Safiya Noel says the Child Support Centre will provide a place for children to get immediate attention and it is a safe haven for them.

She adds that it facilitates the instantaneous removal of children that are deemed to be in imminent danger.

Ms. Noel says the location is secure, child-friendly, staffed with professionals and aims to be a therapeutic space until a long-term placement can be found for the children.
