Schools reopened today following the three week Christmas vacation and this year’s academic term will last 13 weeks long.

Schools are scheduled to close on Friday April 5th, 2019 for the Easter Vacation for 18 days.

Following this, schools will reopen on April 23rd for the final term of the academic year.

That third term lasts just 11 weeks.

The Ministry of Education says student attendance at schools is mandatory up to the official date of the end of each term.

However, in term three leading up to the CXC exams, candidates are expected to attend schools up to the day before the first written exam at both CSEC and CAPE.
