An NGO is calling on the UNC to express its support for the “traditional family”, after an MP expressed pro-LGBT views at a luncheon.
RebuildTT claims Dr Bhoe Tewarie, representative for Caroni Central, urged religious leaders to accept the community and engage them in healthy discussions about strengthening the family.
However, the NGO is not happy about this statement which it believes is an oxymoron, calling the LGBT agency “anti-family.”
It claims other opposition MPs have expressed pro-LGBT views in the past, including Couva North’s Ramona Ramdial and Chaguanas West’s Ganga Singh.
RebuildTT also wants other religious leaders to speak out against what it calls an “attack on the traditional family by Dr. Tewarie.”
