Parents and students of the Roodal Moonilal Ramai Trace Hindu School are marching to San Fernando to deliver a petition to the Education Ministry, demanding the opening of the school.

Children have been housed at a temple since March 2015 and claim to be cramped and uncomfortable.

This photo of the incomplete structure for the new school was uploaded in 2018

103FM News spoke to Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal, who the school was named after in 2013.

He says they take no comfort in the facility being placed on a list of 27 priority schools that are expected to be completed by next year.

Dr Moonilal laments that funding could be provided to upgrade Skinner Park but not to complete the primary school.

Regarding the petition, he claims they now have over 1000 signatures.
