A Chaguanas man is suing the Comptroller of Customers, reportedly because a sex doll he tried to import in December was seized by customs officials.

Newsday reported that his lawsuit intends to challenge the decision by the comptroller to classify items like the mannequin “as obscene and/or indecent and therefore prohibited,” and that the continued detention of the item is unlawful.

The man also wants the plastic mannequin to be returned to him and compensation.

The report stated that the importer received the permission of a high court judge to challenge the seizure.

Last August, local sexologist Giriraj Ramnanan aka ‘Dr. Raj’ was also given permission to challenge a similar decision by customs officials to seize sex toys he imported.
