Finance Minister Colm Imbert expects the Point-e-Pierre refinery to be sold or leased to an ‘acceptable operator’ by year end.

He revealed that there have already been 70 expressions of interest in the refinery and acceptable parties deemed capable of running the refinery were allowed access to the data room at the refinery.

According to the Newsday, formal bids with plan to purchase or lease the plant are due by June 16th.

The Minister says because of the amount of ‘expressions of interest’ into the refinery, he is reasonably confident that Government can finalize an arrangement shortly after bids are due.
