Imbert: CAL’s planes are insured

Finance Minister Colm Imbert says insurance will cover most of the cost to fix a Caribbean Airlines plane that crashed into a wall at the Piarco Airport this week.

The extent of the damage is yet to be revealed, but according to Mr Imbert, this plane, like all of CAL’s aircraft, is insured.

He was speaking in the Parliament this afternoon.

CAL has launched an internal probe into the incident, and Mr Imbert says a separate, independent investigation is also being carried out by the T&T Civil Aviation Authority.
