Education Minister Anthony Garcia is refuting media reports that the Arima Hindu School has been ordered closed by the Ministry.
Reports indicate that parents have not been sending their children to school out of fear for their children’s safety, after a murder occurred just outside the compound on May 9th.
Sources said a possible relocation of the school was being discussed at the UTT Campus in Arima, but Mr Garcia believes this is not an option at this time.
He says several options are being considered for its temporary relocation, but says that Ministry firstly needs the concurrence of the SDMS board.
But the Minister says one of these ‘partitioned tents’ to house students will cost almost $250,000 per month
