After months of speculations, it looks like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has chosen her next film project.
According tot reports, Aishwarya has agreed to play a negative character in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming period drama set in the 10th century.
According to the Indian media-house Mid Day, the story takes place in the 10th century before the rule of Rajaraja I, who was a Chola emperor in south India.
According to reports, Aishwarya will be seen as Nandini, the wife of the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom.
Her character is said to be written as a mysterious, power-hungry woman who manipulates her husband to plan the downfall of the Chola empire because she feels wronged by them.
She was reportedly approached for the project last year, but took her time to examine and understand the layers of her character before agreeing to the project last month.
