Mozilla promises “doubled speed” with Firefox Quantum

Mozilla Firefox has doubled its browser speed, perhaps in an attempt to lure users back from Google Chrome.

According to tech site CNET, Mozilla today released Firefox Quantum – version 57 of the browser.

A tester of the browser says that Quantum packs twice the speed of Firefox 52 based on the Speedometer 2.0 benchmark.

On their US website, Mozilla says the new browser loads google search, google login, Yelp, Ask search, and Shutterstock faster than Chrome.

It claims Quantum 30% less memory than its Google competitor, meaning your computer is expected to run smoother.

On the privacy side of things, Mozilla says its new Tracking Protection feature in its Private Browsing, blocks hidden trackers found in some ads.

It says that blocking some ads and scripts that bog down browsing, can see pages loading up to 44% faster.
