Monetary rewards in place for Commonwealth athletes

T&T’s Commonwealth Games athletes can expect a monetary reward for Government for their good performances at the competition.

Several athletes have already medalled –Michelle Lee Ahye and Jereem Richards have picked up gold on the track while swimmer Dylan Carter won silver.

According to Minister Stuart Young, an agreed rewards system will be used.

Several athletes are yet to compete including shooters Rhondey Allen and Roger Daniel, Javelin thrower Shakeil Waithe, the men’s 4×100 and 4×400 teams and shot putter Cleopatra Borrel.

They’re all in action from as early as 6:30pm today when the shooters take to the range in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Qualification, Stage 2.
