Gayle aims at 2019 World Cup spot

Chris Gayle is not done with West Indies cricket.

His T20i return on July 9th came just days before reports surfaced of a “truce” between star players and the Cricket West Indies Board.

Speaking with ESPNcricinfo’s Gaurav Kalra, Gayle says he enjoyed his return.

He admits that injuries and a dip in form resulted in a poor IPL season, but he believes that once he is fully fit, everything will fall back into place.

Gayle notes that he is targeting selection for the 2019 World Cup, regardless of if the Windies automatically qualify or not.

The 37 year old says that he isn’t done with Tests either and would like to play that format again, even if it’s just one game.

His last Test was against Bangladesh in 2014 when he made 64 and 9* in a 10 wicket win.
