Finance Minister: Galleons Passage docked in good condition, to arrive in T&T at the end of April

Finance Minister Colm Imbert has decried what he says is ‘fake news’ regarding the Galleons Passage ferry.

Speaking in the Senate today, he insisted that the vessel is safely docked in Japan.

He updated the House on the work being done there, and when the vessel is expected to leave for its next leg of the journey to Trinidad.

Mr Imbert also gave a comprehensive breakdown on the costs associated with the vessel, from purchase price, to the additional work.

The vessel is sorely needed on the sea-bridge, as there is currently no passenger ferry in service.

The T&T Express was taken out of service yesterday, while the T&T Spirit will not return until March 22nd.

Until then, passengers with confirmed tickets up to March 22nd, will be accommodated on Caribbean Airlines flights.
