Energy Minister: “Fake Oil” Report referred to DPP

The so called “Fake Oil Report” has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

This revelation came today from Energy Minister Franklyn Khan, as he responded to questions from the Opposition in the Parliament.

Two foreign firms were brought in last year to investigate the matter, and have since confirmed that Petrotrin had paid for oil it did not receive.

In the House today, Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal queried whether or not the matter had been referred to the police.

Minister Khan gave this response.
