Emergency repairs to sink hole on SH Highway

A team from the Ministry of Works was up to last night conducting temporary repairs to a portion of the Solomon Hochoy Highway, after a sink hole appeared yesterday afternoon.

The hole appeared on the south bound lane in Freeport, near to the Unicomer Building, causing motorists to be diverted by police to an adjacent road.

Last evening both lanes were temporarily closed, and all traffic continued to be diverted, as a photo from the Ministry showed a mechanical excavator digging the hole, in preparation for repair.

The sink hole yesterday though caused a backup of traffic on the south bound lane, and even along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway for motorists exiting the capital city.
