Adams: Holder’s rise is due to hard work and talent

Jason Holder’s rise in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings is a testament to his hard work and talent.

That’s how Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams, describes the skipper’s rise over the past few years.

The towering all-rounder is now ranked 9th in the Test Bowling rankings and 3rd in the Test All-Rounder rankings.

His bowling average of 11.87 for 2018 so far is the best by a bowler with at least 30 wickets in a calendar year in 100 years.

Adams, a former captain himself, hopes Holder’s performance will inspire his team and the many young fast bowlers in the region.

The other ranked bowlers include Shannon Gabriel (13th); Kemar Roach (21st) and Devendra Bishoo (34th).

Roston Chase, who had a decent series scoring of 53, 20, 106 and 6, has moved up 10 positions in the batting rankings to 31.
