A 2-month-old baby girl died last night after being brought into the Siparia Health Facility.

According to the Express Newspaper, a police report said that the doctor who attended to the baby found that she had raccoon eyes, a two-centimetre laceration to the top of the head, and hematoma bumps on the back of the head.

Officers were told that the infant, while in a bedroom, was seen bleeding from a cut to the top of the head.

A plaster was placed on the cut, and later the child was taken the facility.

A post-mortem is expected, and police are also investigating.
