Union meets with Massy management to discuss worker safety

Following several robberies, a meeting was held today to discuss safety measures for Massy workers.

Their union, the Contractors and General Workers Trade Union met with the company’s management, during which time several issues were raised, including improper CCTV coverage of the various store compounds.

Another key concern is the safety of those opening and closing the stores.

103.1FM News spoke with the union’s President General, Ermine De Bique-Meade, who claims there has been push-back regarding their recommendation.

As a result, she says “key holders” have been advised to give back their keys.

Ms De Bique-Meade says a meeting will be held in the future as they will continue to seek the workers’ interests.
