WASA: Measures being taken to address Cedros/Icacos supply

WASA says measures are being taken to address the shortfall in water supply to the Cedros and Icacos areas.

Following protests over the weekend, the authority says the Granville Water Treatment Plant is currently producing 700,000 gallons per day – around 50% of what’s needed to serve the zone.

To address the shortfall, it says a number of new wells have been identified for development of which one will be completed before the end of this year.

Work on another three, it notes, will be finished in 2024.

In the interim, WASA says it has been implementing various measures to manage the current supply deficit.
