For two rape charges, a 49-year-old man was granted $80,000 bail with a surety, and instructed to report to the Rio Claro Police Station once a week.

Appearing in court on August 28th, he was also ordered to stay away from the victim at all times.

The accused was arrested after Couva police investigated a report by a woman, who said a man offered her a job in May to clean his apartment and do secretary work.

The man allegedly took the woman and her baby to his apartment, where she was sexually assaulted on two occasions.

The suspect will reappear in court on September 20th.
