The 2023 edition of Toronto International Film Festival has unveiled its line-up of film premieres.

Among them is “Punjab ‘95”, which will have its world premiere.

Based on real events, this movie tells the story of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and his campaign to uncover murderous corruption during a period of insurgency in the Punjab region.

The movie’s makers have been under a bit of pressure in India, as it tries to get certification.

According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification gave it an ‘A’ grade, in addition to 21 edits and the alteration of controversial dialogues.

“Punjab ‘95” stars Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Rampal and is directed by Honey Trehan.
