CWI: Want best performing players for England and New Zealand ODIs

Cricket West Indies wants its best performing players available for the few ODIs ahead of the World Cup qualification tournament.

In a release, the CWI says it has reached an agreement towards a temporary player amnesty, allowing these cricketers to feature in the eight ODIs in England and New Zealand.

The current rules state that players must participate or make themselves available for the domestic tournaments in the formats of the cricket they wish to play at the elite level.

However, CWI CEO, Johnny Grave, says the agreement aims to improve player relations.

He admits that it is highly unlikely that the Windies will automatically qualify for the 2019 World Cup.
