Meteorologist – system on course to affect Trinidad and Tobago

Citizens are urged to prepare themselves for the possibility of severe weather this evening into tomorrow.

Potential Tropical Cyclone #2 is continuing its west-northwest trajectory, at a speed of 41 kilometres per hour.

Tropical Storm Warnings for Barbados and St Vincent have been discontinued.

However, the Warning for Trinidad and Grenada remain in effect.

A Tropical Storm Warning has also been issued for East Venezuela, including Margarita, while Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for Aruba and Bonaire.

103FM News spoke with Meteorologist Oscar Lovell, who says while there are several possible paths the system could follow, the most likely one will affect both Trinidad and Tobago.

As for the strengthening of the system, there are also possibilities that it may become a Tropical Storm within the next 24 hours.

Should the system become a Tropical Storm, Mr Lovell says it will be called Bret.

He emphasized though, that because of the nature of the weather, forecasts may change as time passes.

As such, citizens are urged to be prepared and to follow weather updates closely.
