Met Service monitoring ‘area of disturbed weather’ east of T&T

A broad area of disturbed weather is currently 3000 kilometres south-east of Trinidad and Tobago.

The T&T Met Service says over the last 24 hours, this area of disturbed weather has become better organized.

At the moment, there is a 20 percent chance of it developing into a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours. However, there is a 40 percent chance it develops within the next 3 to 4 days.

The Met Service says all interests in T&T should monitor the progress of this weather system. It is reminding citizens that we are in the Hurricane Season and adequate preparation is advised.

However it is underscoring that at this time, T&T is not under any tropical cyclone watch or warning.

Keep tuned in to 103FM for the latest updates from the Met Service regarding this system and its potential development.
