Tech Today: HTC unveils “squeezy” phone; Squeeze edge to take a selfie

When a Trinbagonian hears the word squeezy, a smartphone is not the first thing that comes to mind.

But that may change in the coming months, as HTC has unveiled its latest offering, called the U11.

It comes with a technology called Edge Sense which will see users being able to take a selfie by just squeezing the side of the phone.

It’s not limited to that alone – the new mechanism can even launch your favourite apps or open your voice assistant.

But, HTC is taking it one step further by claiming that you’ll be able to snap photos underwater thanks to Edge Sense.

Looking at the other specs of the phone, it has a 5.5 inch, Quad HD screen with 3D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5.

Its main camera is 12MP while the front camera is a whopping 16MP.

The 3000 mAh quick charge battery provides up to 24.5 hours of talk time on 3G/4G network.

The U11 has a Qualcomm™ Snapdragon™ 835 processor and comes with 64GB of ROM, 4GB of RAM and expandable storage through an SD card.

It will run on Android 7.1.
