T&T’s Tamboo Bamboo to feature at BBC’s Music Day

T&T’s Tamboo Bamboo to feature at BBC’s Music Day

T&T’s very own Tamboo Bamboo will feature as part of BBC’s Music Day 2017.

In fact, on June 15th in Bradford, 800 children will attempt to break the world record for Tamboo Bamboo.

The art form originated right here in T&T in 1884 after skinned drums were banned by the British government.

It involves hammering carved sticks on the ground to create complex rhythms.

The word Tamboo comes from the French word for drum.
