Valuator urges property owners to comply with Valuation Return Form request
A professional Valuator is urging property owners to cooperate with the authorities in submitting Valuation Return Forms for the Property Tax.
The deadline for the submission of these forms to the Valuation Division is May 22nd.
And there are fears that failure to comply with the deadline would result in a charge and a 500 dollar fine.
Confirming this to 103FM News is Valuation Surveyor Dr. Sunil Lalloo, who is not convinced though, that this law will be enforced by the State.
Dr. Lalloo also clarified the process, stating that if the Commissioner of Valuation decides to further assess a property or verify information, that visit will be done free of cost to the property owner.
Following the submission of documents and possible site visit, an Assessment Notice will be sent to the owner via post from the Board of Inland Revenue.
This notice will state the amount of property tax to be paid and the deadline for payment.
