Teen to cycle from Tacarigua to Salybia to tackle youth obesity

Daniyelle Bennett is just 14 years old, but she’s already hosting a major health initiative in a bid to tackle youth obesity.

Daniyelle has been very active in triathlons and karate, participating and winning several events both home and abroad.

This is what inspired the bicycle ride which takes place this Sunday. Approximately 50 riders will accompany Daniyelle and her club, Caribbean Cross Training, from the St Mary’s Children’s Home in Tacarigua to the Salybia Nature Resort in Toco.

The event begins at 6:30 am and targets children and teenagers, since Daniyelle believes it is important for them to be aware of health issues.
