Ramesh Subasinghe named Head Coach for WI Men’s Academy

Ramesh Subasinghe has been named Head Coach for the West Indies Men’s Academy.

Cricket West Indies says he was chosen following an extensive and meticulous selection process.

There were 53 applicants, which was later narrowed down to a 12 person shortlist, and then 6 finalists.

CWI says the 6 individuals hailed from Guyana, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, reflecting its dedication to inclusivity and global talent scouting.

Subasinghe, a former Sri Lankan first-class cricketer, previously served as Head Coach of the New Zealand Cricket Men’s Development Programme and the Otago Cricket Associations Pathways Head Coach and Talent Development Manager.

He holds an ICC Global Level 3 coaching qualification and is a qualified Coach Development with New Zealand Cricket.

CWI says besides his qualifications, Subasinghe has also exhibited significant expertise in critical areas including developing and implementing high-performance systems, technical remediations and sports bio-mechanics, team and individual holistic skills development, injury prevention and bowling loads management.
